Shatru Movie Review : Story Line

A young multi-talented doctor named Sambit got his first appointment in Jampali village of Balangir district. Being appointed in a rural area, he had to go despite not wanting to and after going to Jampali, he became a different kind of person. Started seeing the patients and thought of getting all of them treated, but the people there believed more in black magic than in doctors.

Like if someone was sick then instead of giving them medicine, they would be treated by paranormal types. This was done, and after seeing different activities of some people, they would consider them ghosts and separate them from the society or kill them, and do fake medical treatment for making this incident real.

Therefore, the doctor tries to first educate all people in his vicinity, But many people of the village opposed the doctor, thinking that the doctor is the enemy of the village, and tried to expel the doctor from the village, but a social worker Sonali and some remaining village people supported Doctor Sambit.

Got hope to move ahead, and slowly brought about improvement in the village by making everyone conscious, after that black magic etc. were removed from the village and those who used to do black magic were also removed from the village, due to which all the problems of the village were solved.

Doctor Sambit completed his mission, so people finally understood that the doctor is not the enemy of the village but a good friend and that’s the Moto of this movie.

Shatru Movie Review – Some Dialogues which touch the hearts of millions

At a point you will going to see that one girl child express her feelings to her Father that, “I have to go the school father, I don’t have to get married.” (ମତେ ଇସ୍କୁଲ ଯିବାର ଅଛେ ବାପା, ମତେ ଵିହା ହେବାର ନାଇନ)

When a child suffer from a fever, Village people were teasing his father about witchcraft and says that Bhagi’s wife, “she always fix her eyes on your child, she is a witch.” (ଭାଗୀ ମାଇଜେ ଜୟନ୍ତୀ ତୋର୍ ଛୁଆ ଉପରେ ଗୋଟେ ନଜର ଦେଇଚେ)

If someone was possessed by a demon, people would expel him from the village or kill him.

The people of the village were trying to kill the doctor who was trying to save the people.

These points proved this movie is a masterpiece made by director Ashok Mishra and Himanshu Khamari along with the undiscovered parts of the Balangir district of Odisha.

Shatru Movie Review – Cinematography

When we talk about the Screenplay, Editing, Camera Function, Voice Over, Place Selection then everything talks us something unique alongwith we will also find some shortcomings in this film. Something unique like proper place selection for this old fascinated movie, director of photography for new emerging actor and actress.

But, when we talk about improving some shortcomings of the movie, it seems that the camera angle rotation could have been a little better and some unknown things of the village could have been presented to everyone, and some old effects could have been added at different places in the editing. If these small changes could have been added in this film then the movie will appear more attractive and locomotive.

After watching this movie on OTT Platform Kancha Lanka, I also felt a little emotional, but I was most inspired by the character of Doctor Sambit, because the guy who was hesitant to work instead of being posted in a rural area, In the end he convinced and change the mindset of rural area people and completed all his missions perfectly.
